What a crazy week it has been! Was monitoring what was going on with the BlueBird over the last week. Ugly. In short, the complete dismantling of Team leaders & Teams, processes related to ensuring content monitoring & the safety & wellbeing of its users. Why? All becoz its new El Hefe is a snowflake who cannot handle ppl saying ‘no’ to him. Wow, who knew?
So the Twexit of scientists begins & is apparently ongoing… Already this week 230K moved over to Mastodon, looking for the nice scientific milieu they had enjoyed for a number of years over at the BlueBird. I was one of those who mutated into a wrinkly pachyderm this week also!
Have not posted to my blog here for ages – mainly because Covid pretty much nixed travel. But this summer I did travel again. Have lots of good stories & of course lovely photos to share! So will try to add some posts about that over the next couple of months. Stay tuned…

Update, 2nd part of December: There seems to have been a mass migration of scientists, journals, & journalists to Mastodon. Looks like the Washington Post & the Wall Street Journal have publishing articles on Mastodon that include tips for new users… things get curiouser & curiouser. Who knows what 2023 will bring, eh?
